Dear students
The President's Award for Teachers (PAT), gives
national recognition to the critical role teachers play in moulding the future
of our nation. These excellent teachers prepare their students for
life. They are models of commitment to continual learning and
enterprise. They are those who, through word and deed, inspire both their
students and peers.
The award will be presented by the
President of the Republic of Singapore on Teachers' Day. At least one
primary school teacher and one secondary school/junior college/centralised
institute teacher will receive the award.
The award will be used
for professional development and personal enrichment and includes an
expense-paid trip overseas for this purpose. The recipient of the PAT will
be involved in the professional development of fellow
teachers.
Nominees of the award should be teachers who:
- Are
presently in service in a primary or secondary school, a junior college or a
centralised institute;
- Have shown utmost concern for the character and
moral development of students by word and personal example
- Motivate,
challenge, inspire and help students to find the potential within
themselves
- Welcome enterprise, innovation, curiosity and creativity in
students
Nomination for PAT 2007 is now opened for nomination. The
closing date for nomination is 5 March 2007.
I would strongly urge
you to nominate deserving teachers for the award. I have attached the nomination
form, please submit in a sealed envelope to college reception by 5 March 2007.
There is no better way of celebrating Teachers' Day by giving them
the highest recognition for their effort, influence and motivation that made you
what you are today.
Regards
Mr Chan Kwok Leong

May I know who posted this??
Thankz so much. Thankz for constantly reminding us to think for those who are not as fortunate as we do.
Do think of these people when we choose to eat Fast food instead of eating at food centres. Do think of them when we buy so many (expensive)presents during Valentine's day. I feel so guilty whenever I throw away food which I dislike...

I'd recommend a film called "Letters From Iwo Jima" (NC-16) - a very emotional war drama told from the perspective of the Japanese. I just caught it at the cinema and I can tell y'all the ticket was worth every of my penny...
